BeeLiked's Display to Play widget makes it easy to engage participants directly from their own devices, whether you’re running public or private promotions. This guide will walk you through how to set up and use the Display to Play widget
What Is the Display to Play Widget?
The Display to Play widget is an embeddable tool that generates QR codes for your BeeLiked promotions. By scanning a QR code, participants can join the promotion directly on their mobile devices, eliminating the need to tie up your team and devices at a checkout, trade show, etc. You can also have them scan a QR code displayed on a large screen at a sporting event or similar.
This widget is versatile and can be used for public and private promotions.
Before you can use the Widget, you must have a promotion ready to use. For a quick refresher, check out Getting Started with your first promotion.

Use Cases for Public and Private Promotions
Public Promotions
- How It Works: A single QR code is displayed for all participants to scan.
- Best for: High-traffic events, trade shows, retail stores, and open-access lead generation promotions.
- Supported Devices: iPads, large screens, or mobile devices.
Private Promotions
- How It Works: A staff member generates a unique QR code for each participant. Once scanned, the QR code cannot be reused.
- Best for: VIP events, rewards for purchases, and exclusive offers.
- Supported Devices: Handheld devices operated by staff members (unsuitable for large screens or static displays).
If you don't include an entry form in your promotion, there will be no way for you to know who has entered.
Entry Forms: Collecting Data (Optional)
You can choose to include an entry form to collect participant data before they engage with the promotion. Alternatively, you can skip this step for a quicker, frictionless experience.
Best Practices for Using Display to Play

- Test Before Launching: Test the widget on all intended devices to ensure a smooth user experience.
- Promote the Promotion: Use signage, social media, or announcements to guide participants to scan the QR code.
- Leverage Data Collection: Use the entry form strategically to gather insights without overwhelming participants.
